* Update--The fourth Mercury-Spark matchup in 14 days concludes the season series between the two WNBA Western Conference foes, with both clubs coming off victories over league-leading Houston. The Sparks halted the Comets’ four-game win streak Sunday at the Forum, 78-65. Houston then went to Phoenix and was upended Monday, 60-48. And again, 35-year-old center Jennifer Gillom was a fast finisher to ensure the win. She scored the first five points of a game-ending 11-0 Phoenix run Monday, finishing with 18 points. Teammate Edna Campbell had 12. Houston registered its lowest point total in franchise history while shooting 28%. The Sparks have won eight of their last 10 games.
