CKE’s Cortes to Head Strategic Planning

* Martin Cortes has been named director of strategic planning for CKE Restaurants Inc. in Anaheim. Since joining the company in 1996, Cortes has held several positions, most recently manager of strategic planning. Before joining CKE, he was a financial analyst for Vons Cos. Inc. In addition, Darcy Rebella has been appointed director of education and training. Rebella joined the company in 1996 as manager of education and training. Prior to that, she was manager of management development for El Pollo Loco and an assistant manager for Taco Bell.

* John Leon has been named executive vice president of network development for Orconet.com, an Orange-based data communications and broadband services provider. Leon originally joined Orconet.com’s parent company, Circuit Image Systems, in 1988 as a corporate information manager.

* Michael M. Tilleman has joined Biolase Technology in San Clemente as director of laser technology. Tilleman comes to Biolase from NRC-Soreq, in Yavne, Israel, where he was senior scientist for eye-safe laser systems and project leader for remote detection of vapor/gas. Before that, he was founder and leader of the Electro-Optics division of Aspen Systems in Marlborough, Mass.

* Joseph Grabuskie has been appointed division director for Robert Half in Irvine. He joined the company in 1998 as a recruiting manager.
