* Update--This is a matchup of clubs trying to get into the playoffs. Los Angeles has won three straight, 10 of its last 12 and today’s is Game 4 of a six-game homestand. The Sparks are half a game ahead of Sacramento, in second place in the WNBA’s Western Conference. Orlando, an expansion team coached by Carolyn Peck, who coached Purdue to the NCAA championship in March, is in fourth place in the East but only a game out of first. The Miracle finishes a five-game trip tonight. Orlando is 2-2 on the trip but lost three straight at home just before leaving. Their leader is former UConn All-American Nykesha Sales, who blistered Los Angeles June 15 at Orlando with 29 points. She leads her team in scoring at 14.5 points a game. The Sparks are coming off their most exciting home game, a 75-72 overtime victory over New York last Saturday, which helped the Sparks into second place in the West.
