New Presbyterian Pastor Due at Shepherd of the Hills

On Sunday, Trinity United Presbyterian Church of Santa Ana will welcome Rev. Alan Landes, its first new senior pastor in 39 years.

Landes comes from Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Lakewood, Colo., where he served as senior pastor since 1988. He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church 20 years ago.

Landes graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. He received his master of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and his doctor of ministry degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary.

In 1998, Landes received a local Man of the Year award for community service. He was active in his local school district and served on his county’s Human Services Community Development Board.

Landes is married to Carol, a middle school teacher, and has two children: Stacey, a sophomore at Whitworth College, and Mark, a senior in high school.
