Housing Discrimination Seminar to Be Offered
The Fair Housing Institute will hold a seminar Tuesday at the Oxnard Public Library to help renters and home buyers learn what to do about housing discrimination.
The nonprofit agency, which provides free services in Ventura and Los Angeles counties, will host the walk-in clinic from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other clinics are planned for Oct. 6 and Dec. 7 at the library.
The housing agency is also seeking volunteers to help investigate housing discrimination in Ventura County.
Posing as potential renters, testers call or visit rental properties once a month for about three hours.
To volunteer or for more information about the upcoming walk-in clinics, call the Fair Housing Institute toll free at 888-777-4087.
