The National Runaway Switchboard provides a variety of free services and information for runaways throughout the country.
The switchboard can arrange for a free bus ride home or a conference call with a parent or guardian and also provides a message service for runaways and their parents.
It also offers referrals for shelters, counseling services and legal help.
The free, confidential service operates 24 hours a day and can be reached at (800) 621-4000, or (800) 621-0394 for hearing-impaired callers.
