Greg Edenholm passed leader Randi Pankratz on the restart at lap 18 to win his first USAC Three-Quarter Midget series feature race in front of 3,602 at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday night.

Pankratz, of Atascadero, was leading the 20-lap race comfortably when a caution flag came out on 17th lap. Edenholm, of Agoura, got a good jump on the restart and was able to get by Pankratz as they raced past the start-finish line.

All was not lost for Pankratz as she took the series points lead from Joshua Wise.

Wise, of Riverside, blew an engine during practice, knocking him out of the race. Pankratz leads Wise, 138-118.

Bud Kaeding led the final 25 laps in winning the USAC Western States sprint-car race.

Kaeding, of Campbell, overtook Bobby Graham on turn one of the 6th lap and pulled away from the other drivers in the 30-lap race. It was his third victory at the speedway.

Mike Wright, of Joshua Tree, passed Upland’s Richie Lloyd on the final lap to win the MSRA Pro-4 Modifieds race.

Kenny Smith, of El Monte, was leading the race when he pulled off the track with two laps remaining. That left Wright and Lloyd to battle it out for the victory.
