James H. Click Jr., co-managing director of Irvine-based Tuttle Click Automotive Group, has been selected as one of five recipients of the 1998 President’s Award from the President’s Committee on Employment of People With Disabilities.

Click, who manages the group’s 12 Arizona franchises (there are nine more in Orange County), is founder of Linkages, a Tucson-based program that connects employers and job seekers with disabilities. He also provides most of the year-old program’s funding.

Tuttle Click Automotive Group has about 35 employees with disabilities at its California and Arizona facilities.

In announcing the award, the committee said Click “has inspired nearly 80 other employers to take part in the program, and some 170 people with disabilities have been placed in jobs.”
