* Pets.com has named TBWA/Chiat/Day as its advertising agency of record. The companies did not disclose the size of the contract, which covers advertising and brand building. Pets.com, an online company that sells pet products and services, is owned by Amazon.com and Hummer Winglad Venture Partners, a venture capital firm. San Francisco-based Pets.com was founded in October. TBWA/Chiat/Day is the country’s 15th-largest ad agency. Its client list includes Nissan North America, Apple Computer, Levi Strauss and Taco Bell.
