From Times Wire Reports

Civil rights and religious leaders called on U.S. Atty. Gen. Janet Reno to investigate the deaths of two unarmed civilians who were shot recently by Chicago police. The incidents have sparked protests from people who thought the shootings may have been racially motivated. Both victims were black, as were the officers who shot them. “That just shows how bad the problem is. Even the black officers are afraid of black people,” said the Rev. James Meeks, director of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition’s minister’s division.
