Feba Radio Will Expand Outreach Programming in Korea
A La Mirada-based religious organization recently announced plans to expand its global radio outreach in Korea.
Feba Radio, a division of Far East Broadcasting International of La Mirada, will develop a new radio station in Sokcho, South Korea, and install new transmission equipment in Cheju, South Korea.
The Sokcho station, scheduled to begin broadcast in the fall, will feature 19 programs, including music, sermons, call-in counseling and Bible teachings.
Existing transmission facilities in Cheju will be replaced so the organization can continue to broadcast programs in Korean, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and English. About 90% of the funds to replace the transmitter were raised by supporters in Korea, officials say.
Installation should be completed in October.
Far East Broadcasting International, an interdenominational Christian ministry, broadcasts 300 program hours daily in more than 150 languages from FM and shortwave stations in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
