DFS Signs 10-Year Lease

DFS Consumer Finance Group signed a 10-year lease to occupy the former Avco Financial Services space on the top three floors of Plaza Tower in Costa Mesa, the company said Tuesday. Terms were not disclosed.

DFS, which last year provided $1.5 billion in financing for boats, recreational vehicles and manufactured homes, will occupy 55,000 square feet, more than double its previous size in Newport Center, said Brian McDonell, the company’s vice president of operations.

DFS, a unit of Deutsche Bank Group, plans to move 170 employees to the 21-story building in September, McDonell said.
