Marilyn Quayle was the featured speaker at the Chamber of Commerce’s Athena/Outstanding Citizen Award luncheon Tuesday at the Waterfront Hilton Beach Resort. June Dugmore of Huntington Beach was named the 1999 Outstanding Citizen for her 30 years of leadership in various community organizations. Nouha Hreish, also of Huntington Beach, received the Athena Award for demonstrating management and leadership skills as the successful owner of Noal Jewelry Design Inc. The wife of former Vice President Dan Quayle was chosen for representing many of the ideals embodied in the Athena Award, which honors a female community leader working toward professional accomplishments, and the Outstanding Citizen Award, which recognizes an individual’s public service, chamber President Joyce Riddell said.
