Reading Program Set at Cal Lutheran

Cal Lutheran University will be one of the sites for Gov. Gray Davis’ program aimed at improving reading instruction in the state’s public schools.
The “Reading Professional Development Institute,” which will serve 100 teachers in eight districts throughout Ventura County, begins this summer and continues through the 1999-2000 school year. Cal Lutheran is one of six private universities selected to host the program.
The school districts participating in the institute are Ojai Unified, Ventura Unified, Simi Valley Unified, Rio Elementary, Pleasant Valley Elementary, Moorpark Unified, Hueneme Elementary and Conejo Valley Unified.
