A special meeting of the board directors of the Golden Rain Foundation, United and Third Mutuals, and the Towers will be held today in Leisure World to determine whether to accept 70,000 to 100,000 cubic feet of dirt as well as storm water runoff from the proposed Burnett/Polygon development project. Plans for the 253,000-square-foot Towne Centre, on El Toro Road near Moulton Parkway, include office and retail space, a 140-room hotel and restaurant. The site is adjacent to property owned by Golden Rain but has yet to be approved by the city.

Today’s decision will be presented to the City Council at its meeting Wednesday. The special meeting will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Leisure World board room, 25322 Paseo de Valencia.
