Jaros Leads With Record Performance
Steve Jaros of Bolingbrook, Ill., rolled two perfect games and shattered the 32-game scoring record Wednesday to lead the PBA Tour’s ACDelco All-Star Classic at Cal Bowl in Lakewood after the fourth round of qualifying.
Going into his last game, Jaros needed only 111 pins to break the 32-game scoring record of 7,794 set by Pete Weber in Las Vegas in 1994. Jaros rolled a 212 to set the new mark of 7,895.
Jaros led the 25 qualifiers who join the seven exempt players--Steve Hoskins, Parker Bohn III, Doug Kent, Eric Forkel, Chris Barnes, Walter Ray Williams Jr. and Ricky Ward--for 32 games of match play.
Match play will be contested today and Friday, with the top eight advancing to Saturday’s finals.
