* IBM will cut 1,100 jobs in San Jose, roughly 10% of its Northern California work force, as it moves its disk-drive factories to Mexico, Hungary and Japan. The storage systems division, which IBM had said earlier it planned to restructure, will remain based in San Jose, with a focus on research and development of storage technologies and high-end disk-drive design, a spokesman said.
