Oborn Rejects Offer From White Sox
Cal State Fullerton All-American outfielder Spencer Oborn has rejected an offer from the Chicago White Sox, and is scheduled to join the Anchorage Bucs in the Alaska summer collegiate league this week, Titan Coach George Horton said Tuesday.
“We’re optimistic at this point that he will be back with us next season,” Horton said.
The White Sox, who drafted Oborn in the 14th round, have until the start of fall classes at Fullerton to sign Oborn, a junior. “And he could sign at any time while he’s in Alaska,” Horton said.
Oborn batted .395 for the Titans last season with 82 runs batted in and 14 homers.
