Share

The Walt Disney Co. is asking students to nominate extraordinary teachers for the company’s American Teacher Awards.

The awards have honored public and private teachers of all grades for the last decade. This is the first year that Disney is accepting nominations directly from students, parents, community members and school officials.

Nominations must be submitted to Disney by March 31, via its toll-free number, 1-877-ATA-TEACH, or online at https://www.disneylearning.org.

Disney will honor 36 teachers in categories ranging from special education to general elementary; winners each willreceive $2,500.

The Outstanding Teacher of the Year receives $25,000--and the instructor’s school and school district will also be awarded $25,000 and $10,000, respectively.

Winners will be chosen by educational organizations, experts and former award recipients. Teachers who win the awards will appear on the Disney Channel in November.
