The Irvine office of the law firm of Snell & Wilmer helped celebrate its 10th anniversary last month with an unusual fund-raising event.

The lawyers commissioned 10 student artists from the first-, second-, third- and fourth-grade classes at Paularino Elementary School in Costa Mesa to do original paintings reflecting their views of their communities.

The paintings were unveiled and auctioned at a fund-raiser for Creating Pride, a nonprofit organization dedicated to using art education as a means of building self-esteem in children.

The 10 paintings fetched a total of $1,625 for the organization.
