Televising Trials

The challenge for a judge is how to “Let TV be a Window to the Courts” (editorial, Feb. 28) without causing the exposure to taint a jury to the extent that parties’ rights fly out the window. The answer is not, as advocated by your editorial, to categorically and routinely allow TV into trials, but rather to decide the issue on a case-by-case basis, which is what the vast majority of judges carefully and conscientiously do today.
