COSTA MESA

Skateboarders, the portion of society usually relegated to parking lots and sidewalks, were invited to a town hall meeting last week to share their thoughts about the design of a skateboard park. The city has hired a designer for a 10,000-square-foot-minimum park to be built near the Neighborhood Community Center in Lions Park. About 30 skateboarders attended the meeting hosted by the Advisory Committee of Teens, said Richard Brunette, recreation supervisor.

Another meeting is planned in six weeks.
