Seminar Covers Basics for Financing College

Share

A free workshop, “Save Tons of Time and Get Thousands of Dollars for Your Child’s College Education,” will be held Wednesday at the Van Nuys Library.

Workshop topics include financial aid, need-based scholarships, grants, low-interest loans and choosing a college with the best financial package.

“Tragically, a lot of kids raised in lower- to mid-income families grow up with a mind-set that they can’t afford college,” said Peter Hudson, the certified financial planner who conducts the monthly workshops throughout the city. “The truth is they can attend a rather expensive four-year college they never dreamed of.”

Wednesday’s session will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the library, 6250 Sylmar Ave.
