City police said Tuesday that a man charged with child molestation was mistakenly released from the city jail last week and is believed to be at his mother’s home in Acapulco. Lorenzo Higuera Antunez, 29, was released March 2, a day before the district attorney’s office charged him with allegedly molesting three children inside his Santa Ana home over the past eight months, Santa Ana Police Lt. George Saadeh said. “We are working with [Mexican authorities] to try to get this guy in custody,” Saadeh said. The error occurred when a clerk failed to forward paperwork to the district attorney, Saadeh said.
