: As for that other kind of surfing: Just in time for tax season, a Palo Alto company that aims to simplify the Web experience will announce a deal today to help Internet users navigate the IRS in cyberspace.

Centraal’s RealNames system allows Web surfers to jump to a Web site by typing in a short keyword instead of a long address beginning with https://. (First, though, they must get to the RealNames home page at https://www.realnames.com through traditional means.)

Typing in the keyword “IRS” will take users to the Internal Revenue Service’s home page. A user who wants to print out a Form 1040 can type “IRS 1040” and jump directly to a printable file, saving at least five mouse clicks.
