Privacy Rights

Rarely, if ever, do I uphold the type of governments that our European counterparts are subjected to. There is too much socialism and are far too many bureaucrats. But “EU Privacy Rule Worries U.S. Firms” (March 6) shows that our European brothers are right on.

We need the right to far more privacy than we are getting. At the time of the implementation of Social Security, I remember that the card said on the bottom, “Not to be used for identification.” What a joke. We are always being asked for our Social Security numbers. I refuse to give out my number to anyone other than the government. Who needs a numbering system to track each and every one of us? Freedom is freedom from snoops who have no right knowing anything about us at all.
