The Anaheim Family YMCA has recognized outgoing board chairman Mel Miller for his accomplishments. During his leadership, Miller helped raise more than $173,000 for the organization, surpassing its $125,000 goal. A golf classic raised $40,000--$10,000 more than expected. The organization serves Anaheim, Cypress, Stanton and La Palma. Miller also developed an advisory board, expanding the panel from 18 members to 37. He also established a speaker’s bureau and helped oversee the development of youth sports at the new Anaheim Downtown Community Center.
