Grammy-winning pop star Beck has sold the Pasadena house he bought a year ago.

Beck, 27, plans to play an acoustic show May 8 at the Wiltern Theatre. His folk-country CD “Mutations” was released in the fall. His next album is expected to be a sequel to his Grammy-winning “Odelay.”

He bought a smaller home on the Westside a few months ago, after he and his girlfriend, fashion stylist Leigh Limon, decided to flee the summer heat of Pasadena.

Beck sold his five-bedroom, 5,200-square-foot home on slightly more than an acre in Pasadena for $1.38 million. He had purchased it for $1.275 million.

Mark Ogden of Podley, Caughey & Doan, Pasadena, had the listing; Gretchen Seager Jr. of William Wilson Co., Pasadena, was the selling agent.

David Bohnett, GeoCities’ founder and chairman, has purchased late actor Gary Cooper’s longtime Holmby Hills home for about its $5.95-million asking price, according to real estate sources not involved in the deal.

GeoCities, the Marina del Rey firm that pioneered the business of building communities on the Internet, recently agreed to be acquired by Yahoo for $3.9 billion in stock. Bohnett, 42, has a stake in the company worth $290 million.

The Oscar-winning actor lived in the house, designed by architect Quincy Jones, from the time it was built in 1954 until he died at age 60 in 1961. The gated home, on 1.6 acres, has five bedrooms, a gym-study and a library in 7,000 square feet.

Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker-Jon Douglas Co., Beverly Hills south office, had the listing, and Linda May of the firm’s Beverly Hills north office represented Bohnett.

Actor Tom Poston, who will appear in Rob Reiner’s upcoming comedy “The Story of Us,” has listed his Beverly Hills home at about $1.4 million.

The movie is due out this fall. Poston co-starred in the movie “Krippendorf’s Tribe” (1998) and had the role of Floyd on the series “Grace Under Fire” (1995) but is probably best recognized for playing handyman George Utley on “Newhart” (1982-90).

The Emmy-winning actor, who also played the custodian on “Family Matters” (1989-’91) and the grouchy neighbor on “Mork & Mindy” (1978-82), has made several guest appearances this year on the CBS series “Cosby.”

Poston, in his 70s, decided to sell his home of 12 years because he wants a smaller one. Built in 1980, his house has five bedrooms in 4,400 square feet. The home also has an elevator with two windows, a pool and a paddle tennis court.

Barbara Tenenbaum of Fred Sands Estates, Beverly Hills, has the listing.
