Players See Alford Leaving

Steve Alford’s departure from Southwest Missouri State for Iowa looks like only a matter of time, and his players seem resigned to losing him.

“I wouldn’t blame him,” guard Kevin Ault said. “It’s his decision what he wants to do with his future plans. I’m sure he’ll come to us and explain it to us before he does anything.”

Point guard William Fontleroy agreed.

“I wouldn’t blame him. He recruited us, but sometimes you have to go on to bigger and better things.”
