Re “Trees for Blythe Street,” Letters to the Valley Edition, March 14.

Besides the hydrocarbons emitted by liquidambar trees, consider the damage this tree species does to sidewalks.

While we are at it, how about a review of other recommended street trees, such as the traffic-unfriendly fruitless mulberry and the unsightly Carolina cherry?
