Licensed Clinics Are Dangers Too

Thank you for bringing more attention to the problem of unlicensed clinics and their effect on those in our community who are uninformed and vulnerable (“Beware Unlicensed Clinics,” March 2 editorial).

Your next editorial could be “Beware Licensed Clinics,” in which you draw attention to the fact that there are licensed clinics where the whole purpose is to end the life of one individual and permanently scar the life of another.

They operate, licensed but unregulated, under names like family planning but they differ very little from the showers at Auschwitz.

* The problems the police encounter investigating a “back-room clinic” reflect the lack of adequate medical care.

Universal medical care would have eliminated the need for illegal (inexpensive) clinics.

And what happened to the $500,000 bag of pharmaceuticals confiscated in the Van Nuys raid (March 5)? Were these burned or turned over to those who could use them?
