DNA Tests Allowed in ‘Fatal Vision’ Case
From Times Wire Reports
A federal judge in Wilmington, N.C., cleared the way for DNA testing that ex-Green Beret Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald hopes will upset his convictions in the 1970 “Fatal Vision” slayings of his wife and two daughters. MacDonald says a band of drug-crazed hippies attacked his family, chanting “Acid is groovy. Kill the pigs.” The case inspired the book “Fatal Vision” and a TV film. MacDonald, 55, is serving three life sentences for the slayings at Ft. Bragg, N.C.
