From Times Wire Reports

A runaway train carrying hundreds of people to the Kenyan port of Mombasa derailed at high speed in a safari park, killing at least 32 people and injuring at least 100. Police said five of the dead were foreigners, one of whom was a Frenchwoman. They could not immediately provide the nationalities of the other four. A police spokesman said it was too early to determine the cause of the predawn accident, but the train’s crew said the train ran out of control after its brakes failed. Survivors said the train appeared to accelerate before it derailed inside Tsavo East national park, one of the world’s largest game reserves.
