Court Ruling Moves Bullfrogs Closer to Playing This Summer

Share

The Bullfrogs moved a couple steps closer to returning to the Arrowhead Pond this summer after a bankruptcy judge agreed Friday to release the team’s logo and name to its former league.

According to bankruptcy trustee attorney Erin Moriarity, federal Judge Robert Alberts orally approved the takeover of the team by Roller Hockey International, which will pay $30,000, and Irvine-based Pacific Sports Hockey Group, which will pay $5,000. The future of the Bullfrogs has been in jeopardy since September, when their former owners placed their parent company into bankruptcy.

According to Friday’s agreement, RHI would own the team and PSHG would operate it, with games most likely played at the Pond. Moriarity said she expects the judge to finalize his decision in writing on Monday.
