The enrollment figures for almost half of the Westminster School District’s campuses were reworked recently as the district tries to rebalance its school population. The Board of Trustees voted to make Stacey Intermediate into a middle school by transferring about 90 sixth-graders out of Willmore Elementary, district spokesperson Trish Cannady said. About 70 sixth-graders at Finley Elementary will be sent to Johnson Middle School.

The board also redrew the district lines for four elementary schools, sending about 50 students from Schmitt to Fryberger, and 50 from Hayden to DeMille. The board postponed a decision on redrawing the lines of Meairs and Anderson elementary schools after parents expressed concerns about transportation and other issues. The board will reevaluate that issue in November.

The changes take effect in September.
