Marrero Named to Two Interplay Posts

Manuel Marrero has been named chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Interplay Entertainment Corp. in Irvine. Jim Wilson, the former chief financial officer, continues as vice president of finance. Marrero has held numerous senior management positions. He was chief financial officer, senior vice president and corporate secretary for Precision Specialty Metals Inc. Before that, he served as senior vice president, chief financial officer and corporate secretary for Autologic Information International Inc.

John Gorske has been appointed vice president of Western National Property Management in Irvine, an apartment-management company. Before joining the company, Gorske was vice president for Legacy Partners.

Geoffrey Burnstock and Olivier Civelli have joined Irvine-based NeoTherapeutics Inc.’s scientific advisory board. Burnstock is director of the Autonomic Neuroscience Institute at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London and a professor of anatomy at University College London. Civelli is professor and Eric L. and Lila D. Nelson chair in neuropharmacology at UC Irvine. He is also a professor in the department of developmental and cell biology in the School of Biological Sciences.

Jyoti Chatterjee has been named president of Research Engineers Inc. in Yorba Linda. He spent nine years as the company’s executive vice president and chief operating officer and, before that, was chief consulting engineer for five years.

Peter Berg has been appointed senior vice president of City National Bank’s South Orange County Commercial Banking Center in Newport Beach. Berg joined City National in 1990 as assistant vice president of commercial lending at the bank’s Lido Village office. Most recently he served as vice president and business development officer in the South Orange County center.

Wil Knoop has joined Golden West Financial in Costa Mesa as general manager of the equipment-leasing division. Knoop had been with Avco Financial Services for 20 years, where he was divisional manager for the leasing division.

Joseph C. Burick has been appointed to the newly created position of president of Santa Ana-based AlphaServ.com’s IT Services division. Before joining AlphaServ.com, Burick spent 12 years with Nortel Networks, a division of Northern Telecom Inc., as vice president of customer service.

Mark Olivier has joined Quanterra Inc. as laboratory manager in Santa Ana. He was general manager of Corning Consumer Canada Inc.
