Ice Dogs Lose; Series Tied

The Long Beach Ice Dogs lost to the Houston Aeros, 4-1, Saturday night in the second game of their best-of-five International Hockey League Western Conference semifinal playoff series.

The series is tied, 1-1, with games tonight at 6 and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Long Beach.

With Houston leading 1-0 after the first period, the Ice Dogs’ Pavel Rosa, who did not play in the first game, scored at 4:50 of the second to tie it, with Dan Lambert and Mark Ferner getting assists.

But Houston came back to take a 2-1 lead on a power play goal by Paul Dyke at 12:56 of the second. The Aeros’ Mike Freer scored an unassisted goal midway through the third period and Mark Lamb added an empty-netter.
