After two workshops, numerous Planning Commission meetings and, soon, a third City Council meeting on the issue, the city is ready to go ahead with the Serrano Creek collaborative-use plan. Officials say it will improve the creek’s aesthetics and usability and provide for erosion control. Public Works Director Bob Woodings said the plan calls for the majority of the area to be used for flood and erosion control, with the remainder turned into a nature park. The area lies between Bake Parkway and Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park.
