American Vanguard Corp.: The Newport Beach specialty and agricultural products company reported a net loss of $525,400, or 21 cents a share, for the first quarter, compared with a net loss of $256,500, or 10 cents a share, for the year-earlier period. Sales declined 6% to $10.2 million from $10.8 million.
