Save the Dalmatians of Southern California is trying to find homes for eight Dalmatians at the Orange County Animal Shelter, 561 The City Drive. The Lakewood-based group picked the shelter because of the “shocking number” of Dalmatians there, said Gina Fournier, marketing director for Save the Dalmatians. If homes aren’t found, the dogs will be put to sleep at the end of the week, Fournier said. The dogs grew in popularity following the release of “101 Dalmatians” in 1996 and have since shown up in animal shelters at an alarming rate, she said. Information: (310) 784-5718.
