Seasonal Greens

Share

Briazz Cafe’s autumn greens salad combines the tart-sweet flavors of dried cranberries and diced fresh pear with mellow toasted hazelnuts and blue cheese. It all comes arranged on a base of romaine hearts and mesclun greens, in a plastic takeout container. Your choice of dressing comes on the side. The citrus-shallot vinaigrette goes especially well with this salad.

Now that it’s spring, the salad may change slightly, with strawberries and dried apricots replacing cranberries and pear. Buy one and you’re entitled to a side serving of soup for an additional $1.79. If vegetarian tomato-basil is offered, try that. It tastes rich, but is as light as the salad.

Autumn greens entree salad, $4.99; vegetarian tomato basil soup, $1.79 for a side order at Briazz Cafe, Two California Plaza, 350 S. Grand Ave., Los Angeles, and other locations.
