Disneyland also is the mother of all rumor mills, and one of the wilder stories recently was that Mickey and his pals would be enshrined Mt. Rushmore-style atop the Matterhorn. It’s not to be, park spokesman Tom Brocato said, though the idea surfaced during brainstorming sessions on strategy as Disneyland approaches the millennium and its 45th birthday next year.

“We discuss many, many, many ideas,” Brocato said. “But it was just an idea. And it went away.”
