WebTV Networks Inc. said President and co-founder Steve Perlman is leaving the company, a unit of Microsoft Corp., and will be succeeded as president by another co-founder, Bruce Leak. Perlman will explore “new entrepreneurial endeavors,” the company said.

* Mountain View, Calif.-based Intuit Inc., the leading maker of personal-finance software, reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $72.6 million, or $1.12 a share, including a gain. It had a loss of $2.2 million, or 5 cents, a year ago, which included a charge. Revenue rose 69% to $239.7 million.

* Novell Inc.’s fiscal second-quarter profit doubled to $38.7 million, or 11 cents a share, from $19.3 million, or 5 cents, a year ago. The results topped expectations by a penny. Revenue rose 20% to $315.7 million from $262.3 million.
