About 100 children will be guests of city police officers at Saturday’s Strawberry Festival Celebrity Breakfast and Parade. Officers purchased 100 tickets to the breakfast, being provided by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Garden Grove. About 40 students from Orange Crescent School at the Orange County Islamic Center and 60 members of the Girls and Boys Club are expected to attend. After the meal, officers and other Police Department employees will go with the youngsters to the annual parade, which will feature bands, drill teams and floats. The Strawberry Festival has been a Memorial Day weekend event in Garden Grove for 40 years. The proceeds have benefited more than 150 charities and community organizations.
