Leadership Skills Focus of 2-Day Conference

Church and ministry leaders are invited to a two-day conference at Mariners Church in Irvine aimed at strengthening leadership skills.

The event, “Leading from Strengths,” will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 9 and 10 at Mariners Church, 5001 Newport Coast Dr.

The event’s workshops are designed to help team leaders deal with common pitfalls and offer tips on how to build teams. The key to a strong team is being “authentic,” said event organizer Ellen Antill. This helps open communication and build trust, which automatically improves team dynamics, she said.

The conference is based on principles found in the Bible such as “grace” and “permission,” not judgment or condemnation, she said. “What it all boils down to is being loving, meeting the other person’s needs coming from where they are, not where you are,” Antill said.
