Domestic Violence Can Cross All Lines

Abby Leibman (“Legal Sanctuary” by Pamela Warrick, April 28) has been a freedom fighter on women’s issues and children’s issues her whole life. I have known Leibman since junior high school, and she has always sought to educate everyone around her about issues of overt and subtle gender discrimination. Her advocacy continued while she was an undergraduate at UCLA and through law school. Her work at Public Council, her participation in various public policy commissions and her testimony at various legislative committees in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., continue to demonstrate her lifetime commitment to issues that will benefit all of our sons and daughters.

The brutal and senseless murder of Leibman’s twin sister, Nina, at the hands of her well-educated husband only brings home the point that domestic violence leads to murder, regardless of age, race, education or affluence.
