Westside Special Olympics, based in Santa Monica, which offers year-round athletic training and competitions for children and adults with mental disabilities, needs volunteer coaches for its power lifting, bowling and volleyball programs. * Turning Point Transition Housing, a project of the Ocean Park Community Center’s network of shelters and services in Santa Monica, needs volunteers to serve on its board. Turning Point is a transitional living program providing housing, food, job counseling, stress and skills training and money management to help homeless people gain independence. * LAMP, a nonprofit, Los Angeles social service agency working with homeless people diagnosed with mental disabilities, needs volunteer instructors for its Computer Learning Center.
