1995 Bodegas y Vinedos Alion, Ribera del Duero, Spain About $35

Alion is owned by the fabled Spanish estate Vega Sicilia, which first brought prominence to the Ribera del Duero region north of Valladolid, where Tempranillo achieves some of its greatest expression. Deep garnet in color, velvety on the palate, the 1995 Alion exhibits all the opulence of ripe Tempranillo. This is a wine for sensualists. Great with turkey, it drinks well with roasts and braised meats--and especially game birds. A good bottle to lay in for the fall and winter.
