“I’ve had a very nice Zinfandel--a 1997 Dashe Cellars Zinfandel. It’s an extremely complex and concentrated wine. Because of the concentration of flavors, it goes well with food but is equally good on its own. It goes very well with any type of meat dishes that are substantial. I had it with squab. What stands out about it is that it’s very concentrated. . . . However, it’s easy to drink. It’s not overloaded with tannins that make it unapproachable.”
