Super Soups

Share

Two French chefs have joined forces to create a line of soups that you can buy in supermarkets. Jean Francois Meteigner of La Cachette and Christophe Bernard, who has his own catering company, have come up with 12 flavors such as garden tomato basil, southwestern black bean, minestrone with pearl pasta and white corn chowder for their the Art of Soup label. Although full of flavor, the soups are low in fat and cholesterol because they are free of meat and dairy products. They come in colorful cartons that include reheating instructions and tips on garnishes to make them even more attractive.

The Art of Soup packaged soups from In Season Natural Kitchen, 20 ounces each, $3.99 to $4.99, in the refrigerated grocery or produce departments of selected markets including Gelson’s, Mayfair, Bristol Farms, Ralphs, Whole Foods and Wild Oats.
